Leave this field empty.
And then there was one. Fall 2015 marked the first chapter for Armstrong High School. The new school is the merger of Ford City and Kittanning high schools, which were only five miles away from each other.

Not only did the students merge in the classroom but on the field as well, wearing new colors. The Armstrong River Hawks represent blue and orange.

When the Greensburg Central Catholic football team (7-1) hits the field to play Jeannette (7-1) at home this Friday in their regular season finale, the Centurions will seek to do more than just avenge last year’s 36-0 blowout loss to the Jayhawks.

Jeannette and Greensburg Central Catholic currently sit second and third respectively in the WPIAL Single-A rankings, and Friday’s result could very well decide who receives the second overall seed

Both Canon-McMillan and Baldwin are fresh off losses and out of the WPIAL playoff chase, but the potential is there for a competitive matchup when the two go head to head Friday.

Canon-Mac head coach Mike Evans, who is in his first year heading a program that had three wins from 2010-14, admitted that the team has a long way to go.

Every Friday night, boys with dreams walk on to a field under bright lights in front of their family, classmates and friends. It’s not about stats; it’s about winning the game and ultimately winning the championship.

The Penn-Trafford Warriors duo of quarterback Brett Laffoon and wide receiver Tim Vecchio have the stats. They have the wins. And they are working hard for that elusive championship.

Over the summer, Belle Vernon Area upgraded their football field to a gold surface that had the Mon-Valley buzzing. Now, as the warm weather turns brisk, the only buzz is about the undefeated team playing on that gold field.

The Belle Vernon Leopards have yet to lose on their new playing surface. The Leopards and their rival Ringgold Rams are the only unbeaten teams in the Triple-A Big 10 conference.

In terms of betting between the blue lines, the Pittsburgh Penguins are the public darlings of the Eastern Conference, however it is the Vegas Golden Knights who have dethroned the Pens as the top-wagered NHL team this year, and it looks to stay the same way as we enter the 2018 NHL Playoffs.

Mar. 7, 2009 was more than a sunny, brisk day in Pittsburgh. That day nine years ago was hardwood ecstasy, a constant drug that flowed through the veins of a western Pennsylvania college basketball junkie faster than it takes the bathtub section of I-376 to overflow with water after a raging rain storm.
