A Colin Moran grand slam and nine Jameson Taillon strikeouts were enough to push the Pirates to 4-0, hanging on to beat the Minnesota Twins 5-4 in the home opener Monday.

It was the type of fantasy kids for generations have had while swinging a wiffle ball bat in their backyard: a grand slam on the first swing in your new home park.

Gerrit Cole and Andrew McCutchen are ripping Pirates management while omitting a certain part of history.

The Cole Train has left the station. After an offseason of speculation and trade rumors, the Pirates finally traded their ace to the Houston Astros Saturday night, receiving right-handers Joe Musgrove and Michael Feliz, third baseman Colin Moran and outfielder Jason Martin in return.

Unlike most of the trade rumors centering around Gerrit Cole this offseason, this deal did not involve top of the line minor league talent, but rather major league ready players.
